Leontyne's early life in Sharlayan was steeped in academia and scholarly pursuits, a world far removed from the rough and tumble existence of Limsa Lominsa. Leontyne's mother sadly passed during in childbirth.Left with only his father, Phineas - a former member of the Sharlayan Forum who resigned from his position after the death of his wife. Making way to the Hinterlands outpost, he dragged a young Leon along beside him. As a teen they settled in Limsa, drawn to the city's untapped potential for innovation and engineering. Despite the reputation of the city, Leon found it as a place where his ambitious projects could thrive, now having his own workshop and contacts.

Cal, a privileged son of Ishgard and first in line to take over his family's noble title after his father's death, lived a life of boredom and excess, longing for excitement that didn't involve dying a painful death bathed in dragon's flame.With no interest in the family affairs, and no desire for the burden of leadership, he reached an arrangement with his younger brother. He would disappear, permanently, and all his brother needed to do was ensure he would continue to lead the life he was accustomed to elsewhere with his rightful share of the family coffers.Now happily at home in Uldah with an alias, he immerses himself in the world of gambling, seeking the thrill of risk. He is willing to go to great lengths to appease his lust for priceless things.Cal -lost- a game of chance to Zancefer Mirandis, the bet seeing him become an apprentice after the Elezen saw promise and a natural affinity to red magic. Cal now works mostly from The Goblet helping curate a private collection of arcane oddities and artifacts.
